One's physical appearance is becoming a big issue nowadays, especially because of the influence of today's social media. Everyday, more and more men and women are wanting to achieve a celebrity look, to the extent of some engaging in surgeries. Some have the capacity to achieve the physical appearance they want while some are bound to live with the appearance they got since birth.

Some of the reasons why a person opts to change the way he or she looks are to gain popularity, self satisfaction, and avoid discrimination or getting bullied. Today's social media has not only opened doors for big career opportunities but has also opened bigger doors for cyber crimes. Cyber bullying is one.

26 year-old Lizzie Velasquez was born with an unknown medical condition that gave her an unusual physical appearance. At present age, Lizzie is only weighing 60 lbs. because the unknown syndrome is not allowing her to gain more weight. This is why she has been bullied since her younger age to the extent of her being named as the "World's Ugliest Woman" in social media when she was still 17 years old.

The excessive bullying she experienced which commonly gives the victim a negative effect even turned Lizzie into one of the bravest ladies of today. It has turned her into an anti-bullying activist and motivational speaker, helping those who have been bullied cope up and fight against it.

Lizzie first experienced being bullied in as early as her kindergarten days, so we can only imagine how difficult her childhood was but she has managed to get through all of it.

Bullying, no matter how and where it is being done, has to be stopped because its effects are very dangerous that numerous victims have resorted on taking their own lives as their way of ending it.
