Pinay Nanny with Kuwaiti Kids' "Tagalog Time".

We, Filipinos, always find it cute to hear someone not a native of the country speak a Filipino word. The more amused we get when we hear them sing a Filipino song with words pronounced incorrectly.

A video of an OFW with the kids she's taking care of became popular in social media sites as soon as it gets uploaded on the first of April. The Kuwaiti kids were shown speaking a few Filipino words coached by their jolly Filipino nanny. "Kumusta ka?", said the younger kid who pronounced it perfectly. They also sang OPM songs such as "Mahal Ko O Mahal Ako" and "Puso'ng Bato" with the younger kid showing very cute facial expressions as if she trully understood the meaning of the song. The fondness of the kids for their nanny is very evident in their gestures towards her which delighted everyone who have seen the video. It's also very nice of them for greeting their nanny's parents in the Philippines and expressing their love for our country.

Videos of this kind are a great way to counter sad OFW stories out there. A confirmation that working abroad is not always equal to dull and sad moments. The video maybe very short to describe how has the Pinay's life been with her employer but it's good enough to say that she has find joy at work though thousands of miles away from her loved ones. What a relief it would be to see all our workers abroad as happy as the Pinay in the video.
