This year's summer season has finally come. Cravings for frozen desserts usually get heightened this time of the year. And of course, ice cream is almost always the first one to pop up on everybody's mind when talking about frozen desserts.

We have already heard about odd ice cream flavors available here in the Philippines such as Bacon, Taho, Malunggay, Sampaguita, and Beer flavors to name a few. Recently, we learned about the latest addition to the list, and that is Milkfish. Yes, Milkfish flavored ice cream! We never thought it is going to be possible and that it would actually taste good as for the ones who have already tasted it.
Students of the University of Luzon in Dagupan City made use of one of the city's pride, Milkfish which is locally known as Bangus, as an ice cream flavor. Pretty unusual, huh? It really is because we are used to eating as a viand, never had it as a dessert. You might have thought that doing it is as complicated as preparing a meal's main course but according to the students, you just have to add the steamed Bangus meat to the regular ice cream ingredients such as evaporated and condensed milk, heavy cream, and cheese to create their now famous "Bangus Ice Cream".
Dagupan City, a first class city that form part of Pangasian, is known to be the home of the tastiest Bangus in the Philippines, and creating a Bangus flavored ice cream is a brilliant way to promote the city to the local and international tourists especially because they're celebrating their Bangus Festival on the 15th to the 30th day of April yearly.
