Angel Locsin will No Longer Play "Darna"

Months ago we've heard about a movie remake of the famous Filipino heroine TV show "Darna." The confirmation of who will take the lead has been announced as well, and as everyone has expected it to be, the iconic role is to be played by Angel Locsin.

But in an exclusive interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda last October 26, Locsin expresses her regrets about withdrawing from the movie that she has invested two years of preparation on as she is suffering from a disc bulge in her spine that developed years ago.

"It is really painful na hindi ko magagawa yung Darna. Kami ng ABS-CBN nakapag-usap kami, nakapag decide kami na mas makakabuti para sa lahat kung hindi ko na gagawin ang Darna. Kung may choice ako ay gagawin ko ang Darna pero kailangan na mag start ng ABS-CBN. Kailangan na lumipad ni Darna," explained by the actress.

On a lighter note, Star Cinema head Malou Santos has assured Locsin that there are plenty of plans and opportunities coming for her in the future.

Angel Locsin is currently shooting a movie with Xian Lim and star for all seasons Vilma Santos so rest assured we will be seeing her in cinemas, indeed!
