Duterte punished violator of Davao’s Anti-Smoking Policy by making him swallow a cigarette butt!!

Most of us know that Davao has been one of the safest cities in Asia and also that strict laws are being implemented there for a few years now all thanks to its current Mayor, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. But there was one incident that literally demonstrated how strict the laws in Davao are implemented after the Mayor himself disciplined a violator of one of the city’s ordinance.

An unlucky tourist was made an example by the city mayor after he smoked on a restaurant which is a public area. The management warned the man but instead of putting his cigarette out he continued and angrily said that he doesn’t care about the law and that he isn’t even using the Mayor’s money to fund his vice.

Then the restaurant owner called the city mayor which arrived just a few minutes who then calmly seated beside the tourist and poked his .38 caliber at the man’s crotch and asked him. “Papiliin kita: barilin ko ang bayag mo, i-preso kita o kainin mo ang upos ng sigarilyo mo?” the tourist then chose the latter just to be real safe.

Some people may not understand it, some even says that it was against human rights to be shamed like that but the guy was breaking a law and no one should be above the law. The Mayor was just implementing it though it was excessive. Before leaving the tourist he said that “Never ever challenge the law”.
