VIDEO: "Journey Max" Chose To Walk Hundreds of Kilometers than to leave his dogs.

Comfortability, if not the first, will always be one of the factors a traveller considers whenever he plans for a trip. Some are even willing to pay a fortune just to get the comfort they want when travelling. But for a man who has long wanted to travel back home, comfortability was never on his checklist.

Maximo Delima, 72 years old, left Ormoc City to try and find his luck in General Santos City when he was 22 years old. 50 years had past when he finally decided to go back to his home town to be with his family again. Maximo could have easily travelled back home but he chose not to leave his beloved pet dogs behind. He has been with his dogs for a minimum of 10 years already. He somehow found the sense of having a family with his dogs while he was away from his family in Ormoc City.

Maximo, instead of an easier and faster travel, chose to walk his way home with 10 of his pet dogs and push cart with some of his things on it. With his pets, he started heading for Ormoc City on foot full of courage that he will soon seen his family again.

In a few days of walking, he reached Tagum City, Davao del Norte. The city must be very memorable for Maximo's journey because it is where he was noticed by kind-hearted individuals who helped him make his dream of being with his family again come true quicker and easier, not only for him but also for his dogs. The city government, with the help of the Dog Owners of Tagum City Association, shouldered the expenses for getting Maximo, now popularly know as "Journey Max", back safely to Ormoc City. The very grateful Journey Max, though very happy about how his sacrifices turned-out well, also had a sad heart for he lost 4 of his dogs along the way. 4 of his dogs died prior to reaching Tagum City.
