NEWS UPDATE: Filipinos Ranked 5th In Happiest List

According to a Gallup poll released last Thursday, March 19, a day ahead of the United Nation's International Day of Happiness, Filipinos are among the happiest people in the world.
Thanks to the jolly attitude that starts within the homes of every Filipino people, we have ranked fifth with a score of 80, along with Singapore, Switzerland, and Uruguay.
Paraguay topped the list of happiest countries with a score of 89. On second place are Colombia, Ecuador, and Guatemala with a score of 84. On the third place are Honduras, Panama, and Venezuela with a score of 82. On fourth place are Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.
Among the 143 countries that have complied to answer a set of five questions regarding if they have encountered five positive experiences the day before the survey.
Gallup has said : "More than 70% of people, worldwide said they experienced a lot of enjoyment, smiled or laughed a lot, felt well-rested and felt treated with respect. Additionally, 50% of people said they learned or did something interesting the day before the interview."
It is always been common for Filipinos to bring out those big smiles in their faces in terms when problems are around. Filipinos are able to manage problems with laughter and smiles. They tend not to complicate situations even more. It is the kind of spirit that they have that even in times of need they can still laugh and still be joyous. When disasters and great dilemmas come routing in to the lives of each Filipino people, it is the support they get from one another that give them strength to go on living and smile again.
