Octopus Carrying Coconut - But Using It As Tool?

Humans do believe that they are geniuses who can learn and excel but as time passes by, the animal world is slowly taking part into that level. Animals do differ a lot to humans but they do have certain qualities that humans are not capable of, which makes them geniuses in their own way. It does not take a backbone to be smart or to be an inventor, with tentacles apparently you can be.

An octopus is in an underwater footage filmed while having the halves of a coconut shell to use as a protection, merely making it as a shelter of its own. It is exhibiting a remarkable example of tool usage in the animal kingdom. As it trudges along the ocean floor, while carrying coconut shells. It suddenly stops while pulling it together and climbs inside. Scientists have known this kind of behavior but its discovery is a first way back in 2009 by a team of biologists from Museum Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. For a long time, it is believed that humans are the only living thing capable of operating and using tools, but gradually it is proven that animals can do it too.

Some scientists are a bit skeptical about the exact definition of tool usage. They believe that a tool is an object used by the animals to help them interact with the environment. Regardless of what the scientists think, the behavior being shown by the octopus is indisputable, truly claiming the title "master at manipulating and mimicking their environment".

Octopuses don't have any large shells to protect them from predators but with this kind of creativity it follows that they strive to survive. In addition, this aquatic creature adds up to the league of smart animals that utilize tools as well.
